Family Shooting Center - Fall Trap League
The Family Shooting Center is pleased to offer the Fall trap league.  League will take place
beginning Wednesday evenings initially at 6:00 p.m.  A maximum of 30 participants will be
accepted for league.  Participants compose teams of 3-5 shooters.

Shooters will be competing for both individual and team trophies and prizes. There will also be
optional individual and team money purses every week.  Trophies and prizes will be based on
total participation.  Silver will be awarded periodically.

The league will operate independently with an elected president, secretary and treasurer for
each.   There will be a ladies and a junior division in each league providing there are a
minimum number of entries.

Dates and Times:  Registration, team assignments, and the first league shooting will be on
Wednesday, August 27th  at 6:00 p.m. with shooting to follow.  Shooters are encouraged to
preregister.  Fall leagues will run for 10 weeks beginning August 27, 2008  to October 29, 2008
for a total of 10 shoots.  Shoots may be postponed by weather and will be made up by either a
double shoot on another league day or an additional league day will be scheduled.   The first
shoot will be a bank day and establishing of averages as necessary.  The first competition will
be the second week of league.  Late registration will be allowed up until the shoot start time at
6:00 p.m. on the second week of league, Wednesday, September 3rd.

Cost:  Each shooter will pay a one-time entry fee of $35.  This fee will help cover trophies and
prizes.  Each week there will be a $2
2 fee for targets per adult ($19 a week for youth).
Administration/secretary fee to be announced the first day of league.  Each shooter may
purchase a punch card which pays for their league in advance:  $
210 for Adults, $180 for Youth
(plus the $3
5 entry fee per shooter).  By purchasing the punch card, the shooter saves $10
overall for league and it saves time each week as well.  A "Lewis" purse will be optional and will
consist of $2.50 per event.  Shooter is responsible for park entry fees.  An annual state parks
pass, which comes with a Centennial State Shooting Club membership is recommended.  The
league secretary shall be paid $1 per shooter per week for maintaining the books.

Format:  All shooters will shoot 50 at the 16yd line and 50 handicap targets each week. Team
scores
and ranking will consist of the 16 yd scores adjusted with singles handicap as defined
in the team singles handicap section.
Individual scores will consist of the handicap yardage
scores.  Handicap will be defined in the individual handicap section.

Governance:  The league will be primarily governed by vote of membership.  The league
officers shall preside over league matters and voting and shall have first right to decisions of
conflict. The league exists at the direction of FSC management who will reserve the right to
determine appropriateness of league defined rules and decisions should there arise a conflict
of interest. FSC management has veto power in all matters.

Teams:  All shooters will shoot with the same team every week at the 16 yard line. Shooters are
welcome to organize a team of five shooters, groups under five can still shoot on the same
team, but the remaining slots will be filled randomly by league management. Likewise,
individual shooters will be randomly placed on a team. On the first day of shooting, teams will
also decide on a team captain. The team captain is responsible for ensuring that all team
members either attend the shoot, or have targets banked.  Team captains collect monies from
the team for each week’s shoot.  Captains are also responsible for checking and initialing
scorecards directly after shooting.  All team members must have payment accountability.

Payment of League Fees:  Payment may be made each week in cash or by receipt from the
office.  The shooter may choose to prepay the leagues fees and receive a punch card.  The
punch card will be discounted $10 if purchased in the first 3 weeks of league.  The card is to be
punched on the range by the captain or secretary at the start of the days shoot.  Team captains
will note that the shooter has paid with a punch.  A punch card is non-refundable.  Any unused
punches are not redeemable for cash or future shooting.  A punch card is transferable.  A
league member who cannot fulfill his obligations to the league and has purchased a punch
card may transfer that card to another shooter who replaces the withdrawn shooter, for
whatever value that may remain on the punch card.

Team Handicap:  Individual scores will receive a handicap value based on 70% of the
difference between the accumulated individual average for the 16 yard line and 24.  For
instance, a shooter shoots a 16, an 18 and a 20 over 3 weeks.  The average is 18.  The
shooters handicap is 70% of 24-18 or 4.2.  In the fourth week, the shooter shoots a 19 at the 16
yard line.  The team score for this shooter will be 19 + 4.2 = 23.2.

Team Competition:  Each week teams will be paired and shoot in direct competition on the
same trap. If there are an odd number of teams, one team each week will draw a bye.  If there
are only 5 teams, then team No. six on the pairing list will be the bye. Teams will compete with
a different team each week until all teams have shot against each other (league turn-out
permitting). Teams are responsible for providing a competent puller/scorer for the team they
are competing against.

Points:  At the end of the season the winning team(s) will be decided on accumulation of
points. One point will be given to the winner of each team match for the 16 yard line event. ¼
point will be awarded for every 25 straight shot by team members.  In addition, ½ point will be
awarded to the team whose member is high in their division grouping that week.

Individuals:  Shooters will compete for individual awards by competing at handicap yardage.
Awards will be given for high shooters in each of 4 divisions. The 3rd, 6th and final day of
regular shooting will be “silver” days.  Six pieces of silver will be given out for the highest scores
in each of 4 divisions and the junior and ladies divisions.  Scores for silver will consist only of
the handicap yardage scores.  Junior and Ladies divisions require a minimum number of 5
shooters to offer silver awards.  Bank scores do not count for eligibility of silver.  The shooter
must be present and shooting the day of silver awarding.

Classification and Handicap Yardage:  Individual shooters will be classed according to their
percentage of broken targets. This will be decided by the first targets shot in the league.  For a
50 shot league format, the first 100 shots, either bank or league score, will determine the
shooters handicap yardage beginning the 2nd regular week of league. For the first 100 shots to
determine handicap yardage, shooting will take place at the 21 yard line. Classification can be
changed if a shooter consistently shoots significantly higher than his or her classification
average, (at the league management’s discretion). There will also be a class for ladies and
juniors. The averages and yardage assignments are as follows:

Division 1    95 - 100% =         27 yard line
    90 – 94.99% =         26 yard line

Division 2    85 – 89.99% =         25 yard line
    80 – 84.99% =         24 yard line

Division 3    75 – 79.99% =         23 yard line
    70 – 74.99% =         22 yard line

Division 4    65 – 69.99% =         21 yard line
    60 – 64.99% =         20 yard line
    55 – 59.99% =         19 yard line

Ladies and juniors may compete among themselves in a Ladies division and a Junior
division.  A junior may shoot in the mens division and receive a classification or he may choose
to remain a junior (under 18 yrs. old on the date of first league play).  A junior lady may also
choose either the ladies or the junior division.  But the choice must be made at league sign up
and cannot be changed during the course of league shooting.  Ladies and juniors will shoot at
their respective yard line based on their cumulative scores, just as the men.
Once a person’s
average has placed them at a certain yard line, they cannot revert back to the shorter yards even
if their average drops.

Weather:  League shooting may be cancelled due to unfavorable weather conditions. League
management will strive to make cancellation decisions as far in advance as possible. If the
weather looks threatening please call ahead at (303) 680-5401 for a status report.

Banking Targets:  A shooter may “bank” 16 yard and handicap targets. The first day of shooting
will be a bank day; all shooters bank 16 yard targets and handicap targets (from the 21 yard
line). Scores for banked targets will be added to the shooter’s team scores for the shoot
missed. Banked targets must be shot prior to the day and time that the scores are used to fill
for an absent shooter. Shooters will receive a “Bank Card” when they check in at the office to be
filled out by the puller, and must declare bank rounds prior to shooting. The card is purchased
as 50 shots (25 @ 16 yard and 25 @ handicap) and is $10.  If a shooter has a league punch
card, 2 bank cards may be issued to the shooter for 1 punch of the punch card.  The shooter
keeps one side of the card for his records and the puller turns in the second card to the office.
Special arrangements can be made to bank targets if a shooter is out of town for more than a
week, or has some other legitimate reason for missing a shoot. It is the shooter’s
responsibility to attend the shoot or have bank targets ready every week. Shooters will be
allowed one “dog score” (shooter’s average minus two targets), if they miss a shoot and do not
have targets banked. After the dog score is used, a team with a missing shooter may use a
“league dog score”.  The league dog score is the average score of all league shooters as of the
day of the shoot.  A “league dog score” will be calculated for team score and another “league
dog score” will be calculated for individual score.   A team’s chances of wining are obviously
greatly diminished if a shooter fails to turn in scores for the week. Don’t let your team down!
Also, no more than 4 bank days will be allowed to count for score.  A shooter must shoot at the
regular league times for at least 5 of the 9 regular league days (not including the first bank
week of league).  Shooters who miss more than 4 league shoots may forfeit all prizes for which
they might otherwise be eligible for.

No Show and Withdrawal:  If a shooter withdraws from league or does not show for league
and has no bank score,  the team may replace the shooter with a new member.  The withdrawn
shooter shall forfeit the $30 entry fee, at the discretion of FSC management, and shall not be
eligible for any league prizes.  If a team cannot replace a withdrawn/no show team member, the
team will use the “league dog score” as defined in “Banking Targets” section.

Shooter Agreement:  By entering the league all shooters agree to abide by these rules and
regulations. For safety concerns, all shooters must obey all range rules, including but not
limited to; consumption of drugs or alcohol, ammunition restrictions, gun safety, and pets.
Please stop by the range office or visit our website for a complete list of range rules. All
situations not covered above or in the FSC range rules will be governed by official ATA
guidelines and rules. These rules can also be amended by a majority vote by the league
membership.
